How billing is calculated

Our cost per hour = consultant pay rate × (1 + vendor markup). Employees and direct contractors have no markup.
Revenue = billable approved hours × the client bill rate on the project's rate card in effect on that day. Overtime and holiday hours use the rate card's multipliers.
Fixed-fee and retainer projects earn revenue when their milestone or retainer invoices are issued. Their hours still count as cost and utilization.
Billable expenses pass through to the client at cost and don't affect margin. Non-billable expenses count as cost.
